We were off to a gig at Sale Street and looking for somewhere close by to grab a bite to eat. We were very glad to find Didas as somewhere calm to relax and have a wine and some small plates before the loud music and madness commenced.
The interior is lovely, elegant and perfect for a quiet drink although I guess it may get louder on busier days. We ordered the Salmon wrapped oysters with green olive Salsa ($8.50), the Spanish ham and gruyere croquetas ($7), the crispy squid with mayo ($8) and the Spicy chorizo in merlot with bay leaves ($8).
They were all delightful but my favourite was the oysters as the tastes blended beautifully for the perfect mouthful. My dining partner loved the chorizo but it was slightly spicy for my wimpy tolerance.
We were satisfied with this amount of food but if you needed more bulk there are plenty of substantial sides such as Artichoke and Potato Mash ($5) and Patatas Bravas ($6) or even a selection of European Meats and Cheese ($10.50)
They had some pretty delightful looking desserts as well, including Churros with chocolate and drinking chocolate. We didn’t try them but are very keen to come back and do so.
