About Cheap Eats

Great food is not always about the money. In fact, in many cuisines, the locals eat out regularly, so it has to be cheap.

And let’s face it, in the current economy, many people are restricting their fine dining to special occasions. Sad but true.

We knew that we weren’t the only ones who wanted to eat out and enjoy great food, but not always splash out.  So we started seeking out those places which offer well-cooked, fresh, great-tasting food at a reasonable cost.  Our budget is $20 for a main, not including drinks. If it is a tapas/nibbles places, then it is $20 for enough food to feel full. Many places we’ve reviewed are much cheaper than the maximum set.

All the places listed have an “A” or “B” council hygiene rating and we also check out the toilets to let you know if you need to be prepared!

We have made some great finds, and also share some of our family favourites.  But we are always on the look-out for new discoveries, so if you have one to tell us about, let us know!

We list a new place every week, so sign-up below for regular updates.
